Monitoring Systems |
![]() |
Monitoring systems provide vital information on the safety of vessels at moorings. A range of systems are available from simple systems monitoring mooring load only, to comprehensive systems monitoring pipeline pressure, meteorological data and providing remote control of valves and fog horns. Measured data is transmitted by radio or landline to the terminal office, and to portable display units which can be carried offshore by the mooring master and used on the moored tanker. The system monitors:
Single or dual hawser systems are available with both individual and total load displays.
Pressure measured on the pipeline manifold provides an indication of pipeline and hose integrity. Loss of pressure alarms provide immediate warning of hose rupture and can be interlocked to Emergency Shut Down systems.
Wind speeds and direction, waveheight and other parameters can be measured at the mooring.
Status monitoring and remote control of lamps and fog horns can be incorporated.
The health of the batteries and solar panel systems can be continuously monitored, improving confidence in the system and easing maintenance scheduling.
